Day 13: The Day Filled With Surprises!

Today, I turned 20. No longer a teen, two decades old (or young, depending who you talk to), 1/5 of a century old, officially in my 20s! It feels good to say that. Goodbye Teens! Hello to a new chapter of my life!

It really doesn't feel any different right now though. However, I did have one of the best birthdays that I can remember, as of lately!

I woke up to some wonderful middle school girls at our retreat/girls night! The night was a success, and tons of fun! Church this morning was so wonderful! It was "Senior Adult Sunday." The senior adults led everything. It was so good to worship with them leading the service. Uncle Jerry Schleiff preached; I could have listened to him go on for hours! He did an excellent job. We sung pretty much every one of my hymns. In The Garden was played on the saxophone, it is my absolute favorite hymn, and made me tear up a little bit hearing it played so well. It is such a wonderful reminder of how we can have perfect communion with Christ because of His sacrifice for us. His prayers in the Garden of Gethsemane displayed His great love for us. How wonderful it will be when we can walk side by side God in the near future, as Adam and Eve did in the Garden. :)

After church, Vikki, Aubrey and I went to our favorite Mexican restaurant, El Parian (or as we like to call it, The Frog). Aubrey's friend Taylor walked in and ate with us. It was a nice time.
After that, I walked into our apartment to find it decked out in birthday decorations! Aubrey really out did herself in making my birthday special!!

I went to youth this evening. My amazing Mom had contacted Jason and they put together a surprise party for me with the kids. They completely surprised me! Mom had ordered a cake and sent a few presents and decorations, and everything! All from Frisco! Jason and Sarah were so great to set everything up and get the kids in on the secret! I was so oblivious to everything that was happening! So much fun!! And after the party, Bible study went great! (at least from my point of view it did...the girls might definitely say differently!)

After youth, Aubrey had planned a little "shindig" with Becca, Angela, and Vikki which included a cake, candles, blow pipes and the fabulous game of Pin The Tail On The Donkey!

All of us with cake and ice cream...and then with War Head Sour Popsicles.

What wonderful friends and family I have!! I'm so blessed beyond anything I deserve! :)

Thank you all for the wonderful wonderful day! And for the happy birthday wishes. :)

P.S. Sorry there's a billion pictures for today, I couldn't pick just a few...so I went all out! :) more can be found on Facebook.

O LORD, you have searched me
and you know me.

You know when I sit and when I rise;
you perceive my thoughts from afar.

For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother's womb.

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.

My frame was not hidden from you

when I was made in the secret place.
When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,

your eyes saw my unformed body.
All the days ordained for me
were written in your book
before one of them came to be.

How precious to me are your thoughts, O God!
How vast is the sum of them!

Were I to count them,
they would outnumber the grains of sand.
When I awake,
I am still with you.

-Psalm 139.1-2,13-18
