Day 8: The Day The Band Got Together

Today was a lovely day. We both had pretty full days, but nothing head-over-heels exciting occurred other than the fact that Glee came on :) Brittany and I didn't get to watch it together, but we both saw it and are excited for what next week holds. I watched it with Nate and a huge group of friends, and Brittany watched it with our suitemate Angela. I only saw a few episodes last season, but I am looking forward to getting into it now!

Brittany and I both went to band to practice for the Prism Concert that is next Tuesday- excitement! The concert is going to not only be the symphonic and wind ensemble bands, but various ensembles, duets, trios, etc. I am playing in many things including a duet called Maya with my good friend Kristin. It uses interesting techniques on the flute. This show is going to be really cool and unique- Mr. Hesse is going for a flowing idea with no stopping and tons of light action. This is going to be something you don't want to miss! Brittany's family is coming, so that will be vair exciting!

Afterwards we got our own band together, as you can see by the pictures. I practiced my conducting skills and Brittany played beautifully with the comhaltas gathered from various places. I like to collect figurines and random instruments considering I love music and want to be a band director. I know, you don't have to say it- I'm a nerd :) I'm lucky I have such a wonderful roommate to put up with me and my crazy antics!

Here is a verse I read last night that I absolutely love. It speaks for itself:

This is what the Lord says to me: "I will remain quiet and will look from my dwelling place like shimmering heat in the sunshine; like a cloud of dew in the heat of harvest."

Isaiah 18:4

God Bless!
